Zaquia Salinas and Guillermo Castro facilitate offerings to the altar and “1-to-1” performances as part of a community engaged research and development residency at Lamplight AVL in Asheville, NC.

30-minute individual time slots are available from
2-8pm on May 4 & 5
and
12-6pm on May 6, 8 & 9

A culminating event to share the collectively built altar will take place on May 10th from 6pm-9pm

A Call to Prayer by Zaquia Mahler Salinas, is a moving meditation that pulls these threads through embodied ritual, inviting us to honor our ancestral inheritances, and call into existence destruction, restoration and hope. Performed by Zaquia alongside Sergio Barrientos and Guillermo Castro, this dance seeks to connect us to the collective experience of diving into and journeying out of darkness.
